Starting from this year’s Experience Africa Week, we celebrate this legacy with the Afrika Vibes Creative Head-Tie Competition.
Here, elegance and creativity will take center stage — as this competition places the spotlight on the beauty and creativity of African and Afro-Caribbean female head dressing.
The Purpose
The contest is not a beauty pageantry. It is about:

It will be judged on the basis of:

What to Expect
For 2026, this competition is a team-work of a model and the stylist. The stylist skillfully crafts the head-tie on the model at the same time as other competing teams. Then the role is reversed till each team has two creative and happy contestants. Both then showcase their unique head-tie styles — bold, elegant, traditional, or contemporary. — with the team expressing both creativity and culture.
