We proudly celebrated the
International Day of People of African Descent
on Saturday 31 August 2024
The International Day for People of African Descent was established by the United Nations and was celebrated for the first time on 31 August 2021. The special day aimed to promote the extraordinary contributions of the people of African descent and in diaspora around the world. It commemorates the rich culture and diversity of people from the Motherland.
We celebrated it on the island for the first time this year at the Museo Tula in Kenepa
And what a wonderful, enjoyable and meaningful event it was with seminars, guided tours, artworks, music, stalls of African artifacts and gift items, food and drinks.
