Why This Conversation Matters Now

For generations, the relationship between Africa and its diaspora has been shaped by history—marked by separation, resilience, and identity.

Today, that relationship is evolving.

This seminar invites you to move beyond remembrance into strategic reconnection—where culture, knowledge, and opportunity come together to shape a shared future.

At a time when Africa is rising in global relevance and diaspora voices are gaining influence, this conversation positions Curaçao within a wider international movement of engagement, collaboration, and transformation.

From History to Strategy

This is not just a reflection on the past.

It is a forward-looking dialogue that explores:

  • How Africa and its diaspora can build meaningful, modern partnerships
  • The role of Afro-descendant communities in shaping Africa’s future
  • The growing importance of global conversations on justice, identity, and development
  • How awareness can be transformed into real action and impact

Event Format

The evening will consist of:

  • A keynote lecture by Okama Ekpe Brook
  • A panel discussion, followed by
  • An interactive Question & Answer session
  • Opportunities for reflection and exchange of ideas
